Everybody participating in sport has a responsibility to ensure that their actions do not cause injury to others or damage to property. If they do, and liability is proven they could become legally liable to pay damages awarded in a court of law.
As the leading Kite Surfing Association in the UK the BKSA have a responsibility to protect their affiliated clubs and members as well as the sport as a whole.
Following a review of the BKSA insurance programme we have decided to appoint specialist sport & leisure insurance broker AE Taylor Sport to represent the interests of the association, and its affiliated clubs and members. Following this review we are pleased to confirm that we have been able to enhance policy cover in a number of key area’s including the addition of personal accident cover for all members.
The following insurance cover and benefits are included in BKSA membership.
Insured: British Kite Surfing Association and its affiliated clubs and members
Sports: Power Kiting, Kite Buggying, Land Kite Boarding, Kite Skiing, Kite Surfing and Snow Kite Boarding
Public Liability & Errors and Omissions Insurance

Cover: In consideration of the payment of the premium stated in the schedule the underwriters agree to indemnify the insured in the terms of this insurance against his liability at law for damages and claimants costs and expenses in respect of: -
A. (i) Injury to any person (ii) Damage to property (iii) Interference with or loss of enjoyment of property as a result of obstruction trespass or nuisance.

Territorial Limits: Worldwide, excluding USA/Canada Members spending more than 30 consecutive days overseas or those travelling to the USA/Canada must be referred to insurers for consideration before cover can be granted

Operative Time:

Claims
It is important that all incidents that may give rise to a claim, however minor, are reported to our insurance broker AE Taylor Sport as soon as possible after the event. This will enable them to carry out investigations at an early stage, and ensure that affiliated clubs and members comply with the policy terms and conditions. In NO circumstances should you admit liability or agree to pay for any damage caused, and any third party correspondence received should be sent to AE Taylor Sport immediately.
