Denzil is a familiar face on the British circuit and one of kitings "nice guys" always ready to help! His 2007 British Tour to date The result in Watergate wasn't his usual and this could be due to the fact that there are several younger riders now beginning to show. His fluid and consistent style should see him with some better results as the tour goes on. Can he pull it back? About Denzil He has been kitesurfing near enough from the start, he started competing in 2002 but unfortunately broke his ankle half way through the season but he made a great comeback the next year to go on and win the British Amateur title! Denzil then progressed up to the Pro class and in his first year he came in at 6th in the BKSA and an amazing 2nd in the KBBT series. Living in Cornwall has given Denzil the ability to excel in both freestyle and in wave riding with its epic Cornish conditions all year round! Denzil competed in the BKSA wave series and his riding ability reflected in his results as coming 2nd in 2005 and 3rd in 2006, put that together with his freestyle results for these two years where he came in at 2nd place for both years you will find that he is the only rider to come on a podium position for both disciplines! Denzil spent part of the winter taking part in the Kenya Cup event which is a multi disciplined kite surfing event; he competed against riders from the U.K, Ireland and France. Disciplines such as wave riding, freestyle, slider and Kicker, race and fire jump were included; Denzil managed to win the Race event and came 2nd in the freestyle competition. When you go to a BKSA competition if you do not see Denzil on the water then you will usually find him with a video camera in hand, he is producing the videos of each event this year and you can check them out on the web site, just click on Multi media and browse through each video to check what has been happening! |
