Firstly you must be a member of the BKSA which can be joined via this site HERE Before becoming an instructor a potential candidate must first complete a pre entry form which is available from your course provider .You must then undertake a number of tasks including shadow teaching and a riding assessment. RYA Powerboat level 2 and basic first aid.
Once you have completed your pre entry form you can apply for a place on a full ITC(Instructor Training Course) DATES HERE BKSA Instructor- The level 1 bksa Kitesurf instructor is 5 days in duration. On completion of this course candidates receive an action plan or full ticket to begin kitesurfing instruction.
A refresher course(1 days confrence) must be attend at the end of 3 years teaching to reissue your certificate The below are all apointments and are reviewed on an annual basis based on performance and subject to contracts BKSA Senior Instructor-
After 150 hours of logged teaching time, an instructor can apply for senior instructor status. This involves a short course looking into the higher responsibilities of senior instructor duties, eg centre management, advanced clinics, specialist teaching.
BKSA Advanced coach- This is designed for high level riding instructors involved with competition training and the running of coaching/clinics abroad. It involves a short course.
National Trainer
National trainers are responsible for overseeing training policy and direction as well as undertaking centre inspections, revalidation conferences, local council liason and access issues.
National Trainer Examiner
This qualification enables persons to deliver instructor courses at BKSA registered centres.
Head of Training
This role involves overseeing and coordinating training Issues within the UK and abroad for both instructors and schools. It also provides a central communication for all instructors on all issues of training and schooling. Appointed by the main BKSA commitee
