Welcome to Solent Kiteboarding, professional kiteboarding tuition on one of the UK best kite spots. The flat water lagoons that form at low tide are an ideal setting to lean and give you a safe environment in which to progress your kiteboarding skills. At Solent Kiteboarding our philosophy is to keep teaching numbers to a minimum. There will be no more than 2 people to one instructor
1st Lesson 2 to 1 (3 hours)
Here you will cover all the basics of flying an LEI water specific kite. We teach you how to rig, launch and land, control the power, chose a safe location and how to get yourself out of trouble. This is the 1st step in becoming and independent kiteboarder.
2nd Lesson 2 to 1 (3 hours)
This lesson builds on your knowledge gained in the first lesson. We teach you advanced body dragging techniques and then it is down to the business end, introduction to board starts. In this lesson you will start to get a proper feel for what kiteboarding is all about
3rd Lesson 2 to 1 (3 hours) Having completed all the other necessary kite flying skills it is time for you to put it all together and use the board. In this lesson you are one on one with our instructors using full length lines and a slightly bigger kite. We guarantee fun in this lesson, your first time up and riding on a board, even if it’s only for a few seconds, will be a memorable one. The skills you can expect to learn in this lesson are handling the board in the water, water start, and correct kite and board technique when riding. Advance lessons 1 to 1 (2 hours)
If there is an area of your kiting you wish to improve we can offer an advance 1 to 1 lesson. We cover what you want. From staying up wind to jumping, rotations, unhooked riding and even the first steps towards handle pass manoeuvres. Call to discuss your needs. Equipment Kites-
Here at Solent Kiteboarding we use all the latest 2008 kites to make your introduction to kiteboarding as safe and enjoyable as possible. These new kites befit from 100% de-power safety and easy re-launch characteristics. The kite of choice is the Naish Cult, we have a range of sizes to suit your ability, weight and wind strength. 
Boards-
We use large board for leaning but also have a number of more advance board available for demo once your riding improves. For your board start lesson we use the Naish Haze 148, this is a very forgiving and easy to ride board, perfect for your first steps into this fantastic sport. 
Personal equipment-
All personal equipment is provided including wetsuit, helmet, harness and buoyancy aid. We just ask that you supply you own footwear
What to bring on the day
For the land based taster session all you need to bring is your self and some sturdy footwear For the on the water lessons we provide all the safety equipment including helmet, harness, buoyancy aid and wetsuits. We ask that you bring some footwear you can get wet, either wetsuit booties or old trainers. (We do have wetsuit shoes and booties for sale the shop from £15). You will also need a towel, sun protection and swim wear.
InsuranceStudents are covered by third party liability insurance for the duration of your course, however on completion of the course, we do advise that you obtain your own insurance to cover your kiteboarding activities.
