Hayling Island Hayling Island is a true island, completely surrounded by sea. Looking at its north to south orientation, it is shaped like an inverted T, about 6.5 kilometres (4 miles) long and 6.5 kilometres wide. A road bridge connects its northern end to the mainland of England. A small passenger ferry connects it to the neighbouring island of Portsea where the city of Portsmouth is located. To the west is Langstone Harbour and to the east is Chichester Harbour. The man beach is mid way along the Island on the seafront

Smooth , Choppy and Waves
This is a very popular windsurfing and kitesurfing spot with many options. Very large grass area is fantastic for rigging kites up and launching safely (beware children's play area and basketball area!!)
North West through West to South
At neap low tide a medium sized lagoon forms behind the large banks, suitable for learning kiting and windsurfing. To the west at neap low tide massive lagoons form with flat shallow water perfect for kiting and you can sail as far as HHSC infront of the beach huts. Best sailed on the rising tides. At HW there can be large swell great for jumps

Calshot is a coastal village in Hampshire, England at the west corner of Southampton Water where it joins the Solent
