![]() We aim to provide comprehensive, enjoyable and safe instruction on all our courses. All our
kitesurfing courses are certified using the kiteboarder card system. All NWKS staff have RYA Powerboat training to level 2 continually training in kitesurf rescue in all conditions and are also first aiders. The main teaching location “Earnse Bay” on Walney Island in Barrow in Furness played host to round 2 of the BKSA Championships and boasts 3 miles of firm sand with only 9 local kitesurfers meaning an uncrowded beach ideal for learning to kitesurf. When conditions make it impossible for tuition at Earnse Bay we have access to further locations just 15 minutes drive away. This enables us to teach on any wind direction safely. We now have a classroom, changing rooms and a facility for hot drinks just 50m away from the shorefront at Earnse Bay. A nearby shop provides snacks and drinks to most people’s tastes. Toilet facilities are also on site. We also provide a supervised hire of equipment to IKO or BKSA cardholders L2 and above.Location Find the link to multimap on our site and follow West Shore Road until you smell the sea, approx 1 mile. 7 days a week, 12 months a year. If you find the school unattended and we are not on the beach, phone and we will usually be with you within 10 minutes.
